It’s time to stop worrying and feel good again

Feeling stuck and overwhelmed is a common experience that many people face at different points in life. It's important to remember that these feelings are both valid and temporary. Reaching out to a mental health professional, like myself, can provide the support and guidance needed to navigate these difficult periods. Remember, you are not alone in this journey.

Misa Trotman Headshot

I’m a licensed California therapist specializing in working with adults who struggle with anxiety or parenting. I understand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re juggling personal stressors, family responsibilities, and the demands of everyday life. I help my clients decrease feeling overwhelmed, feel better, improve their relationships, and bring balance back into their lives. My goal is to assist you in achieving a greater sense of well-being and fulfillment in both your personal and parenting roles.

ABOUT MISA TROTMAN, LCSW

Philosophy

Therapy is not "one-size-fits-all" as every person is unique and has their own story. I view the whole person and accept you as you are. Your beliefs and values are respected and I consider how diverse factors intersect and influence your life and your relationships.  My approach focuses on your strengths and is collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed.

Knowledge and training are crucial to treatment, but feeling connected to your therapist is equally important.  Your therapist can have the best interventions but without a compassionate, supportive connection, therapy can falter.  My therapy style is pragmatic and authentic with a touch of humor and levity.

What will therapy be like?

I strive to create a nonjudgmental, supportive space for you to show up and do the work. Therapy is a place where you can explore what is happening, gain insight, develop coping tools, and work toward leading a happier life. My aim is for therapy to be effective and meaningful.

We will look at your strengths and the various factors that may be contributing to your challenges and develop an individually tailored plan to address them. You will learn how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and strategies to make positive changes. We will look at how your patterns of thinking influence how you perceive yourself and affect how you respond to situations. We will also address how your symptoms influence your physical well-being.

Using an integrative, practical approach that incorporates evidence-based and flexible treatment strategies, together we will develop a plan that is guided by your goals and values.

Living a fulfilling and meaningful life isn't just about achieving goals; it's about living in a way that aligns with your beliefs, values, and purpose.
